Vibes

Pretty decent beginner river, but quite twisty with low hanging trees - slow leading and may be a bit strainery at higher levels. Decent eddies for the most part.

Features

  1. Steep bumble with a turn and wave train. Easy safety, good fun. Hard eddy line for beginners at the bottom.
  2. Gorge run. Two lines: a chutey right (hard right) or a technical left then right. There's a good eddy at the bottom. It's an annoying walk on river left.
  3. Town Falls. There's a boulder garden just before that's navigable with some good signals (not hard). Wave under the bridge was pure choss at this level (not beginner friendly, but they'll cope). Eddy on the left before the falls. Either hard left down the steps or some supposed auto-boofs on the right. Big eddies after with a short paddle onwards to the get out.

Other Notes

Get on a "roadside delight" and off at the rugby club carpark. There was a tree part way down that was fairly obvious, but had flow into it. It was an awkward portage, but I thoroughly recommend walking!
